BAPTISM

Immersion or Sprinkle
We can see that what Jesus wanted us to do about baptism by the example He set. Then Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan to be baptized by him. And John tried to prevent Him saying, “I need to be baptized by You, and You are coming to me?” But Jesus answered and said to him Permit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he allowed Him. “When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him” (Matthew 3:13-16).

"Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Men and brethren, what shall we do?” Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit". (Acts 2:37-38).

Infant
The Bible does not mention or authorize it. “Unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 18:3). Only those capable of hearing, believing, repenting, confessing Christ and being immersed, were subject to the invitation of Christ (Romans 6:3-4).

COMMUNION

You will see the observance of the Lord’s Supper each first day of the week. The early church, as they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine (Acts 2:42), partook of the supper on the “first day of the week” (Acts 20:7). If we are to have the proper respect for the commands of God, how can we do differently?

As we look into the New Testament, we note that we are commanded to partake of the Lord’s supper. Jesus instituted this in Matthew 26:26-29, Mark 14:22-25 and Luke 22:14-23. Paul also refers to this in 1 Corinthians 11:24-25. We are taught that as often as we eat the Lord’s supper, we proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes. Thus, there is the implication in our taking of the Lord’s supper, that we believe that Jesus died according to the eternal purpose of God, that He was raised from the dead, that He ascended to heaven, that He is now King and that some day He is coming again to call all men into judgment. It is clear also, that the eating of the Lord’s supper is one purpose for our coming together on the first day of the week. “And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow, and continued his speech until midnight ” Acts 20:7. From these verses we see the direct command from the Lord, and the example of the disciples taking it on the first day of the week.
